Experience (a glimpse) 
Dimitri Halley has earned his degree in psychology in Holland at the "Vrije Universiteit" in Amsterdam. After this he started his own private practice next to several appointments in government and other institutions. After this Halley, for several years, guided the treatment program and counseling department of a drug and alcohol rehab in Aruba.
After this he worked at the I.P.A. (Institute for Teacher Education of Aruba) directing a unit: "Center for Teacher Care (and attitude development)". He was/is also the counselor at this institute. This center provides programs for the development of attitude for the teacher population of the IPA and the teacher population at large of Aruba. The development of this program was awarded a grant from UNESCO. This center is basically responsible for the coaching and counseling of teachers and student teachers. Work includes both counseling students and teachers and managing a program based on attitude change and development; which focuses on teaching values and virtues (ethics). This institute is also responsible for the continuing education and upgrading of the teacher population of the island.
Dimitri also holds a private practice for psychotherapy, and has done this for allmost than 15 years. He has worked with individuals, youth, teams, organizations couples.
We have since 15 years been busy studying paradox and its application in several fields: health, education organization etc. We have been researching and developing and simplifying an approach for both personal and group development and health. This approach simply is based on reducing tension and resistance and expanding self-concept and consciousness in person and larger systems.
Dimitri has worked with many persons, couples, athletes, teams, managers/executives, professionals, teachers, families, groups and organizations in the context of personal & consciousness development and burn-out prevention. Dimitri is fluent in English, Dutch, Spanish and Papiamento.
Dimitri runs a private practice, which receives coverage for psycho-therapy, family therapy from the AZV (Aruban National Health Insurance Coverage). The practice also consults organizations in behavioral issues and conflicts,
Dimitri has trained The Police and will also be the lecturer in Police Ethics for the Dutch Kingdom wide Police Training Institute at higher education level for the Caribbean area.
Dimitri was during 2008/9 part of the team of the University of Aruba setting up the new and 4th faculty FAS (Faculty of Arts & Science). He is collaborating in the development of curricula for this new Faculty.
Since 2009 Dimitri has signed up with the University of Aruba, and will hold a full lectureship within the new faculty FAS (Faculty of Arts and Science). Here among others he is also part of the program to train new lecturers at the university in self-awareness.
